Over the past 25 years, we have developed a wide network of specialist referral networks and knowledge about what else is available in the medical world to help support and treat your health and medical conditions.
Your permission will be sought, before a Specialist referral is made. Your doctor will complete a full referral letter detailing your medical condition, your past medical history, your medications and the rationale and thinking behind the referral, stating specific requirements.
You will be sent a copy of the referral letter, which will also be sent to your specialist. It is advisable that copies of your Specialist’s letters are sent to your NHS GP, but this would only happen with your consent.
Once you have seen the specialist, the specialist will write back to the doctor who referred you and with your consent, will copy it into the other doctors who are involved in your care. Please note that a Multi-Disciplinary Approach to your care in always advisable.
It is then advisable that you have a further consultation with the Doctor who referred you to the specialist for follow-up and contextualisation of care and future management.
