It is with great sadness that we write to inform you that Privategp.com will be closed with effect from the 30th of September 2023.
It has been our privilege to look after you, our PGP “extended family”, which includes over 30,000 patients during our 28-year history.
Our integrative work has been groundbreaking with some truly remarkable and humbling results for which, I believe, we became quite famous.
I would like to thank past and present patients and staff for your tremendous work as an extended team, together with our network of colleagues throughout the UK.
We have worked very hard to try and ensure a smooth transition for your healthcare.
We hope that the information below will be helpful to you.

Your future medical care

It is important that you have access to your NHS GP or other medical service in future should you need prescription-based medications. We are unable to recommend a medical practice but may be able to signpost you to appropriate support via drpiper@privategp.com
If you have special requirements as a past patient please email drpiper@privategp.com. Responses are not guaranteed and will be discretionary.

How we handle your data

We have a legal duty to inform you of the way we are managing your data. Over the past two or three years, our policy has been to send you copies of all your letters, blood results, and notes from your consultations. Therefore, you should have enough information to provide any new GMC-registered medical practitioner.
Past medical records are held securely. Please send any SARS requests to drpiper@privategp.com

PGP still retains the contact data of all patients with an email address. This is with a view to making future contact to advise of any services being provided by PGP going forward. All patients are offered the option of opting out of this and having their contact data removed if they so wish.

Yours in health and happiness.
The PGP Team

Talking Therapy

Talking Therapy

For Children, Young People & Adults

Talking therapy services for children, young people and adults

Here at PrivateGP.com, we understand that mental health difficulties or problems in relationships can affect us all. But we know that making the first step to reach out for help can feel daunting. You can be assured that we will meet your courage to engage in therapy with the respect it deserves.

Led by our head of psychological services, our team offers specialist psychological consultations, assessments and therapy to anyone who is seeking support to make sense of difficult life experiences, emotional difficulties and/or unwanted behaviours.

Psychological therapy can be self-funded. Please see our fees page. Our clinical psychologists are also recognised healthcare providers with AXA PPP, Aviva and Vitality Health where fees may be covered by a relevant health insurance policy. In these instances, you will be asked to pay the room hire fee directly to Private GP.

Why choose PrivateGP.com for your psychological therapy?

Perhaps you don’t know exactly what’s wrong, or where your difficulties started? Or maybe difficult life events have changed the way you connect with yourself and others around you?

During your initial psychological assessment, we will provide a safe space for you to share your story and to connect with your pain without judgment. Our collaborative approach means we will work together to find a shared understanding of your difficulties and discuss the most helpful type(s) of psychological therapy for you. Depending on your goals, at the start of your therapy you may wish to set a fixed number of sessions or enter into a more open-ended agreement.

Our Chartered Clinical Psychologists work beyond symptom reduction, to explore the root of your difficulties. Engaging honestly and openly with therapy can feel hard, but clients reflect time and time again that this commitment can enable you to disentangle yourself from emotional, behavioural and relational patterns and bring about life changing results. We are confident that your commitment towards the therapy will be rewarded with positive changes and a renewed connection with yourself, others and the world.

Free Consultations

Maybe you have had talking therapy before and not found it helpful? Or perhaps this is the first time you’ve thought about accessing professional support for your psychological wellbeing?

We know that reaching out for extra support is a huge step and it is understandable that you may have questions about whether this is right for you. That’s why at Cooley Psychological Wellbeing we are happy to offer a 15-minute telephone consultation with our Chartered Clinical Psychologist, Dr Robyn Cooley, to discuss the questions you may have. This means you can decide whether you wish to progress with assessment and therapy without committing to pay for a full initial assessment. Alternatively, you can come for an initial assessment with no obligation to return for continuing therapy. We have also provided some self-help guides on the free resources section of our website.

You are unique and we are ready to listen
